In the comments on Quibb she does mention that everything being said she has personally never pitched to Canadian investors. I haven’t either, but perhaps soon to be.

Based on my conversations, some overheard and others later told about, I’ve always come way feeling they are more risk averse. Perhaps that’s why so many Canadian companies go north of the border to raise after a seed here?

I completely agree with your statement that being pompous without substance doesn't help. The key might just be to be pompous enough.
